 Came to find out it was closed....! Regularly they're closed on Mondays, but this day was an irregular closing day. Oh well. We'll come back and check out this Tadao Ando's piece one day.

Holy basils

 Found holy basils for sale near my hometown, and cooked phat kaphrao, Thai stir-fried minced pork with it. The smell of holy basil is amazing!

ホーリーバジルを見つけたので、タイ料理のガパオを作った。ホーリーバジルの香りが素晴らしい。ガパオがホーリーバジルのことだそうで、このハーブを使わないと、ガパオとは呼べないそう。スイートバジルとかではガパオ風と言わないといけないのね。種を取ったら自分で育てられるかな。

 Special breakfast plate of salsa, carnitas tacos, and gaspacho for myself. Breakfast buddy had a latte & a doughnut. Yum!

 ヒラメのお造り、鮪と新イカのお造り、ゴボウと、金目鯛とレンコンフライ、キャベツが酢漬けなのが良い。魚の柄が可愛い九谷焼の入れものには半田素麺と冬瓜と雲丹。和牛と賀茂茄子。穴子と万願寺唐辛子の載ったご飯とお味噌汁。初めて文旦のジュースを頂きました。今回はカウンターだったので料理する様子も拝見できて楽しかった。そしてお客様の半分以上が外国の方。いつものジェラートには蔓無源氏という薩摩芋でできた焼酎がかかってます。この蔓無源氏という薩摩芋は100年前に栽培されていたものを復活させたお芋だそう。そんな昔のものも苗を保存しているというのも驚き。すべてがちょうどいい塩梅の夕べでした。ご馳走様でした！

 思いついて、日日日さんの山椒すき焼きのレシピをお試し。お肉はナニワヤ、黄韮は手に入らなかったので省略。山椒たっぷり。幸せ！

オートミール パンケーキ

 頂き物のパッションフルーツの香りが素晴らしく、アイスクリームと一緒にトッピング。あれ、思ってたのと違う。やっぱりシンプルにシロップだけで、オートミールのほつほつとした食感を楽しんだ方がいいみたい。パッションフルーツはそのままで頂きました。香りにうっとり。

LEGOLAND JAPAN Day 2

We could make a reservation of water play area inside LEGOLAND which is open only in summer, after purchasing their towel at a shop and buy tickets for reservation. We failed yesterday so tried the online first thing in the morning but it filled up in a second!

Anyhow, the boys didn't care much about taking rides, but rather busy building their ship with LEGO. They took a pirate boat water shooting ride at the end, got wet, changed their clothes, then we left for Nagoya station to take our Shinkansen back home.

LEGO LAND JAPAN Day 1

 Took trains to LEGOLAND via Nagoya after departing Inuyama in the morning. I didn't bother taking much pictures anymore as it was our 3rd time (1st time for papa). 

We booked the LEGOLAND Hotel for the night. Adventure was the theme of the room we stayed. The boys found a quiz paper, answered them by themselves, and could open the safe to get LEGO toys.

Nagoya castle & Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology

Trip to Nagoya. Went to see Nagoya Castle, which we couldn't go inside because they're fixing it, though we went to see Honmaru Palace they copied and built about 5 years ago. So hot we had shaved ice to cool down before heading to Toyota Museum. They started with spinning business then renovated to motor cars.
