We love you! Originally uploaded by piroko_kuroda Here's Chikage's drawing she putted up on a wall of Gano's house in LA, and it almost made me cry. It must had cost me $100 to put on the web using my Japanese mobile phone, but I wanted to share with people, family, relatives, friends, anybody whom I have something to do with. We're all here in LA, family altogether, safe and sound. I must thank this fortune despite of the fact that there are so many people in tragedy in Japan, mostly in Tohoku area. There's nothing much you can do about it when it comes to a natural disaster, but I kept telling myself that, at least, by leaving Tokyo, we think we could contribute to save a little electricity and water usage, food consumption in Tokyo. Plus, it made my husband calmed down by meeting some old faces in this side of US. I also thank Gano that he offered us a shelter, and talked through what he's been through when Katrina hit in New Orleans, and made a comment that...

waiting for sis Originally uploaded by piroko_kuroda Everyone was thinking about the same thing today - buy a lot just in case. So, we went to a local supermarket to add some more in a pantry, it was packed. Had to wait in line almost an hour! Mo became grumpy so I took him out and fed him with some snacks at a cafe across it and waited for his sister and father. By the time we left, the store closed the main door, limiting the number of people coming in. The aisles of water, canned food, bread, are empty, almost everyone had toilet papers. Luckily where we live are not going to have black outs as Tokyo Power planned so far, we don't have to worry about using some emergency kits, yet, it's good to be prepared.
