Bricolage Breadで見つけた寺田本家さんの熟成日本酒を使ったお菓子。神崎の酒屋さんに六本木でこんにちわ。とても美味しくて、大事にいただきます。

Ton's final test of English

 My daughter had final test at her junior high, and she brought back the English test. The last question was to translate the following into Japanese. Most of the words are not the ones she learns at school, and I don't think the teacher actually expected the students to translate perfectly, rather read it. I know this is the preamble of the Constitution of Japan. I hear the news, it breaks my heart, and reading this today makes me wonder about many things.

娘が期末テストの英語の文を持って帰ってきた。そのうち、最後の問は英文を翻訳するものだった。多くの単語は中学校では習わないものであり、おそらく先生も完全に翻訳することを期待するのではなく、読ませたかったのではないかと思った。これは日本国憲法前文。ニュースを聞くと心が張り裂けそうになる。今、この文を読むと色々な考えが頭に浮かんでくる。

 実家で採れた蕗の薹。天ぷらでいただきました。今回は抹茶塩で。春の香り。

押し寿司＆鰯のつみれ汁

 珍しい昆布締めの鮭を使って押し寿司。鮭に塩けが足りないので醤油をつけながらいただく。大人味。

鰯のつみれ汁の味付けは醤油と塩で、ネギをたっぷり載せて。こんなに美味しいのに子供達は匂いが嫌と。独り占め。

寺田本家の酒粕

実家から届いた寺田本家の酒粕。同封されていたレシピのうち、りんごと酒粕のコンポートを試してみると、意外な組み合わせがとっても美味しく、酒粕マジック！

 伊勢丹新宿店でのポップアップで、『きみの箸』子供達の分を購入。パッケージが素敵なのはもちろん、開けていくとメッセージがあって、全部を読むと目が熱くなってしまう。子供達も無事にここまで大きくなりました。ありがとう！

Cannolo at Pietre Preziose

 カノーロを求めてピエトレ・プレツィオーゼさんへ。赤と緑のドレンチェリーが可愛い。メニューに仲間入りしたリッチャレッリを試食させてもう。シエナの伝統菓子だそう。アーモンドの粉、粉砂糖、卵白が原料。オレンジとレモンの香がする、もっちり食感。生地を寝かせるから作るのに3日掛かるそう。ご馳走様でした！

Cannolo at Pietre Preziose. Had a sample of ricciarelli, originally from Siena. Almond powder, sugar, and egg white are the main ingredients. Very chewy texture with orange and lemon flavor. It takes 3 days to make as the dough has to rest. Yum!
