Wonderful pairing of texture and flavor. Paid a visit to Kabuto shrine, which is the origin of Kabuto-cho. Surreal looking up metropolitan highway close above.
Salad, corn soup, Chestnut & apple bread, and the main dish was duck confit with roasted potatoes, and edamame hums, beautifully laid out on a blue plate. New favorite place.
5 days of lock down for him. His fever was gone the following day thanks to the 3 hours of IV, which was his very first one. The class was closed due to majority of students' sick leave 2 days before he was going to go back to school, and the closure was extended another 2 days... Odd season to have flu going around...
Caesar salad combo, with a dessert of rhubarb tart, along with ice decaf latte. We haven't come here for a while because it’s a very popular place now. It calmed down around around 10:30 am and I could spent a bit of quiet time.
The original building is 100 years old, a renovation made 21 years ago based on the design by Tadao Ando. Staircase is the original, the bay window will let you go out and touch a medallion relief on the wall. 3F used to be the reading room and I couldn't stop imagining what it was like back in the day, reading books from the library there, under those classy chandeliers. Nice and cozy children's library on 1F where we spent almost 3 hours, the main children's book library is in the back of the new building. They have a small cafe which was perfectly fine with little ones to have a quick lunch. Fun day!
