Lecon de Gout at elementary school

My daughter had "Lecon de Gout", a Class of Taste today at school. Instructor was a chef Namae from L'Effervescence, a French restaurant ranked No. 12 on Asia's Best 50 Restaurants, Michelin 1 star restaurant...!

"Lecon de Gout" is a lecture conducted during the 3rd week of October, "la Semaine du Gout", The Week of Taste, which has been running for 5 years in Japan since introduced by France, which originally started in 1990. If you look at the list of schools with lecturers on the website, it goes on with prestigious restaurants participating. According to this website, total of 129 schools, 330 classes, with approx 8,984 students are joining this class. For NIS parents, they are scheduled on Nov. 20 for G-3.

Theme at the class was to learn 5 tastes: salty, sour, bitter, sweet, and umami. They had samples of salt, rice vinegar, chocolate, sugar, and dashi soup stock. She was very happy that she could eat chocolate at school, publicly. And, she asked if she could go to his restaurant... I would LOVE to go... mmm, we'll see...
