Since when ROLLED SUSHI became so popular in Tokyo on SETSUBUN, a day before spring? It was originally a custom in a certain area of Osaka, as I recall, and now everybody and all sorts of rolls are sold everywhere. Even it's served at my kid's school lunch. It's a new custom to me though why not I can make them! Omelet, cucumber, Kanpyo (strips of dried gourd), flying fish roe, shiitake mushroom, and pink mashed and seasoned fish on a rice and seaweed. Omelet rolls for little ones.
恵方巻、いつから東京でもこんなに見かけるようになったのだろう。スーパーでは山盛り子供の学校の給食にまででているほど市民権を得たよう。久しぶりに巻き寿司が食べたくなったので、材料を揃えて作ってみた。大きい人たちは色々載せ。卵焼き、胡瓜、干瓢、とびっこ、椎茸、でんぶ。小さい人たちには卵焼きの細巻き。海苔は年末に見つけた美味しいもの。日本橋でも大阪の河幸さんのもの。
